Counseling
Life is hard work! Sometimes we just get stuck and can't make changes.
We may feel alone, anxious, or confused. Our relationships may be estranged.
Families may be a mess. Marriages may be on the verge of the devastation of
divorce. Often people have a difficult time finding someone who is skilled
at helping them find solutions rather than just talking about problems. We
invite you to consider allowing us to help you find the solutions through
Coaching. We are eager to help you make positive changes as you journey
on the Pathway to you best life with Purpose, Passion and Grace.
Blessings,
Ron & Shelia Borden

What is a Coaching Consultation
We believe that people can change.
We believe that relationships can change. We want to help you make
those changes. Coaching at its' best focuses on client results. We
believe that every one is unique and requires solutions that best
fit their situation. Our Pathway Coach will help you personalize an
action plan that fits your life circumstances, personality, values
and problem-solving style. By the end of each Coaching session you
will have a clear understanding about the steps to take to make the
changes you want.
Another advantage of Coaching is the encouragement you will receive
from your Coach for your accomplishments, your solution-oriented
steps and your victories. There are many ups and downs in the process
of making changes in your life. A Coach understands this and can give
you the support you need to stick with your plan.

What happens during a Coaching Session?
Before you call, you should give some thought to the question, "What
are my goals for the Coaching session?" What kind of help am I asking
my Coach for? Be as specific as possible. As an example, instead of
saying, "I want to communicate with my spouse", you might say, "We are
on the verge of divorce and I would like you to help me find some ways
to send the message that I am changing to my spouse". The clearer you
can be about where you need help, the more help you will get. At the
beginning of the session you will want to give your coach a brief
description of the problems you are experiencing. You won't need to go
into great detail. Offer your Coach highlights of events that have
brought you to your current situation. You may want to write down notes
before your call to help you stay focused. Your Pathway Coach will e-mail
or fax a "Coaching Preparedness Sheet" to you prior to your session to
also help you focus on getting the most out of Coaching.
Your Coach will ask what you have already tried to make the changes
you want, which efforts worked and which haven't. After your Coach has
an understanding about your goals, the events leading to your current
situation, what you have tried in the past, it will be time to work on
new ideas, strategies and ways of approaching your situation. Your
Coach may give "homework" related to the ideas you discussed during the
session. The Coach will help you clarify your situation and offer
suggestions about what to do next. Remember Coaching is very results
centered.

How often will I speak to my Coach?
Some people schedule one session and find that it is enough to get
them going in the right direction. More often, people schedule several
sessions. Your Coach will want to allow time in between sessions for
you to put the plans discussed into action and observe the results.
